When you visit the racecourse, there are a whole host of activities that you will take part in with one of the Racing to School Education officers. Interestingly all of the activities incorporate some of the key elements that you learn in your classes at school

Weighing-In

Visit the Weighing Room where the jockeys prepare themselves before each race. Find out who else works in there and just how important the relationship between weight and performance is in racing.

Parade Ring Possibilities

Similarly to humans, racehorses need to warm up before they race and this is where it happens. Use your maths skills in this activity to find out the health and safety precaution that everyone has to think of when dealing with horses.

Safety in Numbers

Take a tour of the Grandstand and find out where all racegoers cheer on their favourite horses past the winning post.

Jolly Jumpers

During the National Hunt season (jump racing) horses are required to jump over enormous fences. Get to grips with the fences and find out just how clever these horses are.
